Development of Land Information Management System for Lamu County

Lamu County Government Partners with Digireg Kenya to Modernize Land Management with a Digital Land Information System

Lamu County Government partnered with Digireg Kenya to transform its land management from analogue to digital through a comprehensive Land Information Management System (LIMS). This project marked a significant step in modernizing land data management that aligns with Kenya’s commitment to using technology for improved public service delivery.

Digireg Kenya led the design and implementation of an efficient LIMS that supports the creation, updating, and maintenance of land records, including parcel information and transactions. By integrating the work of various departments handling land titles, registry documents, and maps, the system streamlines land management processes and improves interdepartmental collaboration.

This initiative resulted in a multi-user web application for land management and map generation, featuring an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) to gather user feedback and identify areas of improvement. The project is set to enable land management efficiency, improve transparency, and promote sustainable development within Lamu County through modern technological solutions.
