Kakamega Housing Policy

In order to create a comprehensive housing strategy and meet the housing needs of more than 1.8 million people living in Kakamega County’s metropolitan areas, Digireg Kenya Limited spearheaded a revolutionary project. An extensive evaluation of the county’s 104 housing units was part of the project, and the results showed that they needed major repairs as well as improved management systems. In order to help the county fulfill the increasing demand for housing in a sustainable manner, Digireg created a strong policy framework that lays out plans for quality, reasonably priced housing, effective resource management, and better maintenance procedures.

The Kakamega Housing Policy project’s main results include a baseline analysis, regulatory guidelines, and a thorough policy statement that incorporates modern housing standards and climate adaption strategies. Through this approach, Kakamega County may increase utility use, enhance urban redevelopment, and provide basic amenities in government housing in a logical manner. Digireg’s initiatives enable the county to make data-driven decisions that support community well-being and long-term sustainable growth.
